God’s All-Purpose People
The Lord is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed. (Psalm 28:8)
The pomegranate is an all-purpose tree. It produces pulpy and tasty fruit. Pomegranates were part of the architectural design of Solomon’s temple because of their beauty. Embroidered pomegranates, alternating with golden bells, were on the fringes of the high priests’ robes. In other words, the pomegranate was the all-purpose tree.
Like the pomegranate tree, there are also all-purpose people. All-purpose people are people of many facets, people with appealing character and pleasing personalities. They do everything for the glory of God, and whatever they touch flourishes.
We might not be like the apple tree that grows only apples, but we can be like the pomegranate tree whose beauty and fruit are pleasing. We can be all-purpose people serving God with our many talents.
Let’s use our gifts and talents to bring glory to God. After all, that’s the reason God made us all-purpose people.
