What To Do With Your Doubts
When you ask him, be sure you really expect him to tell you, for a doubtful mind will be as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:16 TLB)
A doubt is a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction. Surely, you have had doubts about something or someone. However, people should realize that when they doubt, it weakens their faith. Instead of doubting, change it into trust. You cannot trust God and doubt Him at the same time.
When you admit the reality of doubt, you are on your way to eliminating it. It is only after you face your doubt that you will be able to overcome it. Having doubt might be a reminder to you that your faith needs to grow.
After admitting your doubt, you can do the following things to rid yourself of it:
• You can counteract doubt by replacing it with faith.
• When you establish a relationship with God, you will doubt less.
• Doubts should remind you to pray more.
• Rely more on God and what He can do rather than what you can do on your own.
