Joy in Trials

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds.” (James 1:2)

Joy can exist even in trials because it looks beyond the moment. Advent reminds us that Christ came into a broken world to bring hope. Joy is the strength that sustains us through hardship.

What Joy Is
•    Joy is confidence in God’s plan.
•    Joy is peace in the midst of storms.
•    Joy is hope that endures through testing.

What Joy Is Not
•    Joy is not the denial of pain.
•    Joy is not pretending everything is easy.
•    Joy is not dependent on perfect circumstances.

Call to Action
Embrace today’s challenges with faith, trusting God to bring growth through them.

•    May you find joy even in trials.
•    May your faith be strengthened as you endure.
•    May hope anchor your soul.

Prayer
Lord, help me to count it all joy, knowing You are at work in my trials. Amen.
