The Hope of Glory
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27)
Perhaps you have noticed that all my devotions this week have been focused on “hope.” That’s because “hope” is the theme for this first week of Advent.
Today’s message continues with “The Hope of Glory” where Paul tells the Colossians that the Christ in them is “the hope of glory.” What Paul said then is just as appropriate for us today. Christ in us is also “the hope of glory.”
Paul desired to make the gospel message personal for the Colossian Christians he had never met. That is my desire for thousands of readers through this medium.
Know that Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins, and God raised Him from the dead on the third day. Then you are saved. Because you are saved, Christ lives in you and that is “the hope of glory.”
In other words, a true believer can be confident of eternal life. The “hope of glory” within him is the guarantee of that.
